How I added a VB4/Flashchat "who's chatting" sideblock
I've tried searching around for this hack, but could only find bits and pieces of info from other threads. I'm no programmer and I know very little HTML, but I'm good with computers and I'm a quick learner...so after doing some experimenting to add a "Who's Chatting" block to vBulletin 4, I came up with this:
-First of all, blocks has to be enabled under Admin Control Panel/Settings/Options/Forum Sidebar and Block Options. -Next, go to Forums and Moderators/Forum Blocks Manager and click "Add Block" -Select "Custom HTML/PHP" and click continue -Enter a title such as "Flashchat" or "Who's Chatting" -I entered a cache time of 1 minute but you can make it refresh however often you want to -Active= Yes -Under "Content Type" choose HTML -Under "Content" paste the following: <tr> <tr> <td class="alt2" colspan="2"> <iframe frameborder="0" height="250" src="chat/info_embedded.php" style="width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" border="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe> </td> </tr> </tbody> -Click Save and you're done! Your chat info should show up when you open the side bar. |
