Facebook Connect Issues IE6 - Popup wont close

We are getting the exact problem described here

After seting up a brand new fresh install with the latest vBulletin 4.08 Patch Level 1 still get this problem, need a fix.

To replicate this you open the forum in IE6 click FB connect. A facebook popup window is seen, after you enter login details and hit login as usual, the login processess and then tries to load the whole forum page inside the popup and then goes blank (ie background color of forum) which doesn't close and doesn't reload the main browswer window.

This only occurs for a returning registered user using FB Connect. A new user using facebook connect to register and give facebook application permission works correctly closing the popup and logging them in, however when return on a new session the user will experience the popup not closing.

please help I've been trying everything I can think of and no luck.
