When trying to install mods most of them require me to find $navbar in the "FORUMHOME" template but when i search for it there isnt a $navbar in there. any ideas what replaces the $navbar so i can use these mods?

If you are using vB4 (this is the vB4 forum) and being told something about $navbar in the FORUMHOME template, the you are looking at a vB3 modification which most likely won't work without modifying it.
