I noticed today that posts in my newest forum (a subforum of another forum) aren't showing up when I look at all posts from a certain user. I know they posted in this forum several times but when I look at their past posts in search none of them show up.
Anything I should check- I checked forum manager and didn't see any settings to disable the search or such. ![]() |

AdminCP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> affected forum. What's the setting for "Index New Posts in Search Engine"?

Damn... that was it... I know I looked for that before but I must have mis-read the setting... it makes sense now though, I copied the permissions from my "test" forum which isn't in the search index...
Thanks again. Any idea if old posts will get indexed now or if I have to run a task manually to do this? |

Pretty sure you'll have to rebuild your search index.

Old posts will not suddenly get indexed. You need to rebuild your search index.

Is that a major processor intensive task? Should I wait till off hours? shut off the forum?

I'd run it when the forum slows down. It's not a high-enough drain on the server to shut the forum off completely or lose sleep by running it at 3am.
