Disable reputation completely for users who unchecked 'Show Your Reputation Level'

I'd like to completely disable reputation for a user when they uncheck 'Show Your Reputation Level'.

So there's no reputation bars in their posts and no reputation icon.

Possible?

It seems the variable $posneg is used to define whether it is turned on or off in the postbit_reputation template. So, write a plugin to preregister that variable for use in your postbit (or postbit_legacy) template and then use it in conditions for whether those areas are shown in the template.
