Can I enable links in signatures--but not posts--with only template mods?

I am like a novice. I like to minimize modifications. But I received automated warnings from Bank of America because somebody posted a link to a pfishing site...

So I stripped all active links from my forum. (Admin --> Options --> BB Code Settings --> Allow link BB Code.) Unfortunately, this also deactivates links in signatures. I believe signature links are essential to reward serious forum members. (And I can easily control signature links by allowing this for paid members only.)

Can anyone help with my questions please...?

1. Is there a way to "enable links in signatures but not in posts" using only template modifications? (Or perhaps no modifications?)
   
   
2. Or if I must use a PhP hack--is this the best hack to use...? "Advanced BBcode Permissions Mod"
