How can I improve my layout?
I have recently designed my first vBulletin layout.
I would really appreciate some feedback on what to improve. Site URL: http://community.gamerex.net |

I don't know if you tested your style in other browsers but there are big issues in Chrome... your main logo is behind other boxes, "Affiliates / Sponsors - Premium Memberships" alignment is off, and what looks like it should be a row of links isn't links at all...
See screen shot attached... |

I don't think it is a Chrome problem because I myself use Chrome. I have tested in all major browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox & Opera). This looks like it is a screen resolution problem. The "row of links" is actually the title of the site. I should have made it more clear, sorry. Cheers mate and I will do my best to get the resolution sorted. Regards |

My Chrome window resolution is set to 1280x1024.

My screen resolution is 1280 x 800, and I get the same problem. I'm using Firefox.
Feedback: * Put the User Of The Week bit above the Top 5 Stats bit. * Make all the post icons the same size. The space doesn't have to be filled, just the width of the post icons all the same size, so the text is all aligned (forum home page). * Make the blue forum header a slight gradient, to make it look better. * Make the thread/post numbers in the forum home into a lighter font, so they're easier to see. * Seperate the Donate and About table by a small gap (20px or so). I like the look of it so far, just needs a little tweaking here and there |

Thanks for feedback. I don't know what is causing the site to display incorrectly for you guys.

I have the same problem on firefox - the adblock addon is causing it (for me). If I disable it for your site, your banner ad loads and the nav bar looks as it should.

You're right, it works fine with adblock off.

I just wanted to say that I'm quite impressed with your custom theme. It's very nice for your first vBulletin skin. There are only a few things I would suggestion:
Anyway - very impressive first effort! Good luck with the site Jacquii. --------------- Added [DATE]1287014719[/DATE] at [TIME]1287014719[/TIME] --------------- btw - what did you use to design your navbar? I especially like it! Also - to get rid of the adblock issue - code your ad in a <div> with width/height specified -- perhaps 472x64px with transparent background/transparent border so the space is still visible as should be whether adblock is enabled or disabled HTH... |
