site section with member access login tied to VB?

The title says it all.. I think I would be able to do this technically from scratch as I did a few php+mySQL applications already.

I wanted to ask here first to the vB authors and team (Ed you there? ) how they would go for making such a thing.

I need to restrict access to my VB members only, on some non-vB pages/sections on a site...

Please let me know what you think, if it has been done by somebody else before, how, etc..

Any help would be appreciated.
