BB Code Enhancements - Entertonement.com BB Code - Embed Movie Sound Clips (BBCode)

Breaking News: Entertonement was taken over by Hark.com but this BB Code still works. See post #6 for updated instructions.

Entertonement.com is a website with a vast collection of audio clips from your favorite movies and other sound bites- such as "Luke, I am your father..." from Star Wars or the Joker asking "Why so serious?" from the latest Batman film. All your favorite lines are probably there. (Not limited to movies but they are my favorite).

You can embed their files in your forum with this BB Code... I had to make some changes to their default embed code but it works well.

This has been confirmed working in the latest releases of IE, FF, Chrome, Safari, and Opera.

Add a new BBCode

Title: Entertonement Audio
BB Code Tag Name: ent
Replacement:

Use Option: No
Button Image: (optional)
Remove Tag If Empty: Yes
All Disable Options: Yes

If you get a message after submitting the new code that says:

The following BB Code replacement may not be properly formed. All HTML attributes should be enclosed within double quotes.

You may safely hit "Continue" - this is a bug in vBulletin.

When you find the audio clip you want click on "embed" and look for the "Link" URL such as:
http://www.entertonement.com/clips/xybpjkbfks--Luke-I-am-your-fatherMovies-James-Earl-Jones-Darth-Vader-Star-Wars-Episode-V-The-Empire-Strikes-Back-

The only part of URL you need is the code after "/clips/" in this case: xybpjkbfks

[ent]xybpjkbfks[/ent]

Entertonement was taken over by Hark.com but this BB Code is still working just fine. They must have kept backwards compatibility with the old enteronement embeds.

The Hark URL is something like: http://www.hark.com/clips/jclfkhbddn-ducktales

Just put the code before the dash into the BB Code. Example:

[ent]jclfkhbddn[/ent] will produce the player embedded on your site.

Does this mod work with vb4.1.11?

I have small few seconds long mp3 files on my server. can I embed them with this BBcode?

Yes it should work with 4.1.11

You can see it work here: Qapla.com Entertonement Demo - which is running 4.1.11

In general bbcodes work on all VB versions since at least VB 3.5.

However this will not allow you to play mp3 files on your own server, you would need to install a local mp3 player for something like that.
