Encrypt footer links ?

Hi there,

As a vBulletin 4 designer i do release free styles for the community, this is my latest vBulletin 4 style:

- CMS
- FORUMS
- BLOGS

(this style i will be releasing for free, once i can get some help encoding the footer link to prevent removal).

As you can see a lot of hard work goes into my styles... now i am getting very very annoyed at people as they are removing my footer links, all that i ask in return for people using my style is that they leave 1 tiny little footer link in tact... but no people remove the footer link straight away.. not just this people are even removing my footer link and replacing with their own links and releasing the styles on warez forums... If this continues i will stop releasing styles for the community and only design styles for my own needs.

I would like to know, how can i go about encoding my footer links to prevent them from being removed ? i know with wordpress you can make a theme stop functioning if the footer link is edited / removed.... can this be done with vBulletin 4 ??

Is it possible to make a footer link show without placing the link in the footer template ?

Please help me on this, i would like to continue to release styles for the community as not everyone can design vBulletin 4 styles... but i will not have my work stolen / edited or promoted on warez forums by *******s stealing my work and claiming it as their own.

Any help on this matter will not only help me, it will help the vBulletin community.

I have seen this too, not sure if it was for vb, but if you tamper with the link removal then the theme is disabled...but I am sure if someone knows their themes then they would know a fix, and you would have to encrypt certain files without limiting the user access to change other stuff. You best bet would start a bid on RAC and hire someone that knows VB and encryption that can do this for you.
