I made an avatar set of silhouettes that are setup for 100x100.

Included is the photoshop source file where you can change the color of the background, or the pattern if you'd like. Also included in the zip are each one of the AVs in jpg format.

To change the color, just click on the layer called "vb blue" and adjust the gradient layer.

There are 11 male and 11 female avatars.
There's one generic "unisex" avatar for a default.

(FYI: screenshots make it look "soft", but the actual files are clearer)
