vb_cms_article in mysql database
I'm an amateur web programmer and right now I'm trying to write some script that will populate some values into a featured content section. I noticed that there is a table in my database called vb_cms_article. But there are a lot of NULL values there. Values that look like they would be useful for someone doing custom programming. Things like threadid, posttitle, and postauthor. Even when I make new articles, they always show up as NULL. Is this the way it's supposed to be? It just seems so... odd. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my installation.

Check out what happens to those fields when you promote something from the forum. Or the blog. Standard articles don't have meta data for these fields.
