Suggestion: Categories/Sub-Projects Details »»
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
Would it be possible to allow the creation of project categories and sub-projects in a similar manner to forum categories/sub-forums? For example, a category of "Styles" would include projects "Style 1", "Style 2", "Style 3" and category "Modifications" would include "Mod 1", "Mod 2", "Mod 3" etc.
It'd create a more consistent approach for both end users and admins to deal with in terms of layout and permission inheritance. The current approach of selecting a project first and then a category seems illogical when compared to the methodology used for the forums. Show Your Support

Categories in Project Tools is different than the categories in the forum. A category in PT is categorizing a single issue, a "category" in the forums is a group of forums. But as of right now, no, that is not possible.

I like the idea of Sub-projects (project within a project, inherits Categories, Statuses, Versions etc.).
Categories that contain multiple Projects, though, is a bit over the top IMO. That can be covered by placing a link to the Project within a specific forum-based category. |
