IMPORTANT NOTICE: This hack will not work (or install) with vBulletin versions below 4.0.4, see Frequently Asked Questions section below for more information. What Does This Hack Do?
Silver
This is an update to my 3.8.x version of this hack, designed to work with vBulletin 4.0.4 and above. This is an hack adds an extra option to the Search this Forum drop down list in forum display, that additionally allows you to search for unanswered threads by forum (including child forums if enabled). This can be useful for example, if you have some of your forums dedicated to support issues and want to filter by unanswered support threads, just in that forum (and child forums if enabled). There have been a few threads that mentioned template edits for allowing to view all unanswered threads in all forums (not like this hack which is by forum, not the entire site), vb.org uses a variation of that template edit. This hack is different, but based on the idea, and allows more control over the results. There are no file or template changes at all, and is phrased. AdminCP settings for this hack available in vBulletin Options > Search For Unanswered Threads By Forum. Settings that can be changed are:
vBulletin Version Compatibility
Silver
This hack can only be used with vBulletin 4.0.4 - 4.2.0, see Frequently Asked Questions section below for more information. For the v3.8.x version of this hack, which will also work with v3.7.x and v3.6.x - check here. Hack Support/Feature Requests
Silver
IMPORTANT: This hack is no longer supported. Frequently Asked Questions
Silver
Question: I get a "This product is not compatible with version 4.0.x of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 4.0.4)" message. WTF does that mean?Answer: It means that this hack will not work with vBulletin versions below 4.0.4, as Internet Brands had removed some search functionality when they released vBulletin 4.0.0 that caused this hack to not function, they added back most of the functionality in vBulletin 4.0.4, see this bug report for more information - http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-3652. Do not ask for it to be made compatible, you will have to upgrade to vBulletin 4.0.4 for it to work. Install/Upgrade/Uninstall Instructions
Silver
The InstallInstructions.txt file is included in attached .zip file. There is nothing wrong with this hack at all.
Tested and works fine in vBulletin 4.0.4 & 4.0.5, and that was tested using the default style as well as five custom styles. |

Does it work in the default style? You set the usergroup permissions correctly? |

Did you do step 1 of the installation instructions? because if you did, then you should see the Search For Unanswered Threads By Forum Permissions section in the Usergroup permissions (the middle screenshot in the first post). If you did not, then you will need to do so.
