Using VB Registered Users with Site
Not sure if this should be in here or programming, but here goes.
I'm wanting to use the users that have registered with my forums on my site so that they only need to log in / register one time. Is this possible? The only related thing I could find dates back to '06. <_<; |

best you can do is keep the cookie forever if they delete cookies it would force a new log in, when they come back
I don't know i have had my board were it was darn near impossible to log off even if you did it would be logged when i came back .. using .mysite.com in the cookie directory i think\ but be carefull you can lock yourself out messing with the cookies |

Sorry, let me clarify. I don't mean that they would only need to log-in one time and they are there permanently.
My site has some pages you have to be a registered user to see. All registered users for the website are also registered for the forums. I want the two to use the same users database, so that if you log into the forums you can see the rest of the site and vice versa. I read elsewhere that it would be easier to have the rest of my site use vBulletin's user database instead of the other way around because that would require massive change of vBulletin's code (that was the '06 post I found, so not sure how relevant it still is). |
