How do i restart upgrade?
hello friends,
i have ran part of the urgrade script only to find a missing file in the directory.. so i have closed the upgrade script and returned to my directory to fix it.. but now it wont let me upgrade.. and my site is being displayed as 4.0.3 but i cant acces admin pannel.. what am i to do how can i run the upgrade again? when i try to run: mydomain.com/forum/install/upgrade.php it changes it to: mydomain.com/forum/install/finalupgrade.php and the page displays: Server Error 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. thank you for your time.. |

If you rerun the upgrade script, it should redirect to the finalupgrade script. It should not give a 500 internal server error though. I'd suggest you talk to your host about that or check your htaccess file if you are using that to redirect.

is their any way i can un-do the steps i have gone through with the upgrade?
i fear i may have to run a clean install... please see my site majestictwelve.net/forum it shows 4.0.3 at the bottom.. so in essence i need to un-upgrade it then run it again? either that or run a clean install.. |

What Lynne is saying is that you only need to run finalupgrade.php now, to finalize the upgrade. Your forum isn't hosed, it's just not completely upgraded yet.
You need to talk to your host about why you're getting an internal 500 error, and then re-run the upgrade. It will jump to finalupgrade.php, and if you can get it to load properly, it will finalize your upgrade |

their was an error in my upgrade.. i dont need to talk to my host i know its possible to upgrade..
i think i may need to restore my database then try again.. upgrading upgrades my database correct? so mybe my database is upgraded to 4.0.3. which would be why my site is being displayed as 4.0.3? so if i restore the data base.. clear all the files from the directory then upload the 4.0.3 files.. remove install.php and config.php then add the old config.php.. i should see the upgrade.php screen again.. correct? --------------- Added [DATE]1273781203[/DATE] at [TIME]1273781203[/TIME] --------------- NOTICE: i have successfully upgraded to 4.0.3 yay! i just removed everything from the file directory and started again and it worked! |
