How do I make blocks appear in thread view as well as forum view?

I'd also like them in User CP, though that's not essential. Is there a simple setting to make them appear in thread view, or do I need to alter something?

EDIT:

Solved this. If anyone's interested, there's a product called Everywhere Sidebar with a load of display customisations.
