How to upload images to another server

Hello,

is there any option to upload images to an external server or FTP account?

I would than my users publish their albums on a server different than the one where vBulletin is installed.

it would be in config.php
you would have to setup all that stuff then use the var_referances to call it, do you mean the albums, in CMS or? what albums. lol just make them use photo bucket

I mean the forum, the pictures that the users upload to a post.

Do you know where can I find detailed instructions to get this?

the articles section here is where to start, as far as setting up a slave drive for your forums. I'm not sure what it does I don't use it, are you just trying to lessen the load on your server or are you just worried about hard drive space. or bandwidth. whats the reason you need to do this?

The reason is because I am currently using 2 servers. The first one has a lot of RAM and a fast processor, but the bandwith is expensive. The second one can't manage a script with high traffic, but allows me to burn a lot of bandwith. That's why it would be interesting to split the content.

Its more than i can help you with , swap the servers :>
the config program is in the upload folder in includes folder i think take a look at it and see what your up against. I know the paths would have to be defined and the data base handle and passwords would have to be set but i guess it would work , the problem is i don't know how you can define what traffic or data gets sent to a specific server that would require rewriting the software i would think.

this is an example of how to use an outside data base, its geared for forum blocks but with some editing it probilyy would work for your image setup

What you can do is set up a kind of sharing between servers either by nfs or by iscsi.

Share one directory on the "burn traffic" server and point the forum to the location where the
directory is shared, works for me
