Shifting the header down.

I need the space between the header and the navigation bar to be gone.

You currently have a padding of 10px on .doc_header which is causing the gap

Be warned that changing doc_header not only changes the position of your title image, but also the position of the entire header template...

I suggest you download Firebug for Firefox which will allow you to play around with it
