Quote help

Please check out the screen shot. I would like to keep my alternating colors white/clear but the quotes (boxes) don't show up. How can I put a border around that quote AND may the width smaller? What would I need to change? Please give specific code help, as I'm new at this.

I looked in the bbc quote templates, but couldn't tell what to change. I want the border to be green.
