Created Extra Profile Field To Thwart SPAMBOTS
Hi,
I'm having a problem with the same spambot every day. I think I figured out a way to thwart them, but I need advice. I created an extra profile field on registration which requires new members to choose a favorite team from a list I made up on a separate vbpowered page. They have to copy and paste the favorite team into the profile field then continue registration. Is there any way to customize the perms on that registration field to only accept a response from the listing I created? Example: The bot automatically fills in the field with whatever it wants since it's a required field. Currently there is no requirement to what is filled out. New registrations cannot register unless it's completed. I want the registrants to fill in specifically what is on the list. This way if a bot tries to register, it's turned away for not using the specific required text. Hope that makes sense.:erm: |

You can set a pattern that must be matched in the custom profile field.

Can you elaborate? Is there a statement I must write in order to customize the field to look at this pattern? Thank you |

Hi Marco, do you know which template the profile fields would be? I'd like to add a conditional to this field which makes the registrant choose from a list on a separate page.
Thank you |
