How to add a new Payment API
I'm looking around to find a way to add a different payment API than the ones already included with vB4. I've found a 2-4 year old tut - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=125369 - on it and I've looked in the developers manual (don't understand a thing in there... lol). I'm surprised that vB hasn't incorporated a simple way for the general public to add a new processor to the list, without the necessity for us to go in and hard code a new one for ourselves. I'm fully aware that not everyone wants to do this but it would seem like a reasonable functionality to add in.
With that said, I was wondering if anyone here has created such an addon/mod that will allow us "non-coders" to add in a new payment processor to handle our memberships. If not, maybe it's something that can't be easily done in a general sense and can only really be done on an individual basis. Ultimately what I envision is to offer 3 levels of membership. 1 default free membership with limited functionality and 2 other paid levels with subsequent increasing functionality and an annual cost commensurate with that increased usability. Also, the membership would bounce down to the default free level if they don't renew their membership by the expiration date. But of course once they renew they get bumped back up and not lose any history of their account ie. post count, reputation etc. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated |
