"Posting Permissions" box removal?

Could someone please instruct me regarding removal of the "Posting Permissions" box?

Well, in the following templates:

forumdisplay
showthread
newreply

I removed the variable:

{vb:raw forumrules}

And even removed everything in the "forumrules" template.

But now I still have the text and the little background rectangle:

Any help please to remove "Posting Permissions" text and the background rectangle it sits over?

Put this in your additional.css. Then click save and reload.

I use this at my place. It's clean and simple.

This is a better method then mine and I want to use it, BUT, it doesn't hide the display options. Does anyone know what additionally needs to be added?

.forum_info included in what I posted, is confirmed to remove everything from the bottom of the page the threads are listed on.

Yeah, it wasn't really working for me. So I just stuck to my original method.

It's good for UI but html still loads, so it does'n make page any lighter...

Ok if that CSS isn't working I find it is sometimes fixed by adding "!important;" after the display:none. Notice the ; comes after !important.

However in terms of optimisation, this isn't a very good way of removing it. Your adding something to remove something else.

Find this and remove it from SHOWTHREAD, it starts at line 540, ends 548:

And there you go, it's removed completely and it doesn't load like it does by just using css, saving you page speed. To get it back click [show default] on the template.

And also if you would like to remove it fron post a new thread then you have to open

Template: newthread

and go to the bottom and remove {vb:raw forumrules}
