All I want to do is embed an image in a widget to appear on the CMS front page. I've tried using an html img tag. I've even tried the BBcode tag.

I realize I'm probably missing something basic.

Anyone got any ideas?

And did you write your widget correctly? If I recall, the template outputs the varialbe $output (unless you are using a custom widget). So, you need to make sure to put what you want to output into the variable $output.
