Is there a way to ask a caching mod for my forum?
Well i have been getting high server load emails from my hosting company and i was suggested to ask vbulletin creators if there's any mod where the script does not need to generate a new page with every request, helps to lower the over load that a script will cause. Like a caching modification or something. Anything will be gladly accepted.

If you peek inside your /forum/includes/config.php, there's settings for vBulletin to recognize several different server caching programs.
APC, Xcache, and eAccelerator are all available this way. Ask your host which one they'd prefer to add to your site, and once they add one, edit your config.php accordingly. Further questions should be posted on vBulletin.com in the Server Support forum, as this feature is native to vBulletin. |
