What does user "Display Reputation" do?
In the admin CP when editing individual user accounts one of the available options is Display Reputation: Yes/No.
What exactly does this option do? Whether I set this to Yes or No doesn't seem to make a difference. The user's reputation is visible no matter what -- even to unregistered users. Perhaps this option is overridden by the usergroup permissions? I have the usergroup option "Can Hide Reputation from Others" set to No. Is this overriding the individual user's reputation display setting? Online documentation isn't very enlightening and I tried searching the forum. Thanks. |

That switch basically tells vB whether to show a line of green/red blocks or just a black square.
green/red = On/Yes Black = Off/No |

As far as I can tell this switch doesn't turn off the reputation blocks. --------------- Added [DATE]1267827462[/DATE] at [TIME]1267827462[/TIME] --------------- OK, I think I've got it figured out. My suspicion was right, the usergroup permissions override the user settings, even if the user settings are set by an admin. So if the usergroup setting for "Can Hide Reputation from Others" is set to No, then that essentially disables the individual user switch for "Display Reputation: Yes/No" and reputation of all users in that group will be displayed no matter what. |
