Why is allowing users to use html in non-forum specific areas bad?
So I'm interested in allowing people to post things like animated GIFs in other people's members areas as visitor messages, however to do so I have to click the setting "Allow HTML in non-forum specific areas".
It says this is strongly not recommended. Why is this bad? As you can tell I'm a newb with computers. Is there any other way to allow users to post animated gifs in member areas without enabling HTML? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

Because with html, they can add codes which could be bad for you and others.. hackers will have a open field... as I think

Click the little (?) button on the far right.....it will show a pop-up explaining it.

Hey guys thank you for your responses. Is there any way to allow members to add animated gifs to the visitor message area in other member's profile areas without enabling this option? Thanks in advance.
