Changes in Header and Navbar

I would like to get a ad banner moved down a bit under the log in area. I thought using a mod found here on the site would do that but it didn't get it centered up and down properly.

I need some help with doing so.

Also, on another note, how do you remove the searchbox from the navbar??

If it can be removed then I would assume it can be added elsewhere. What code needs to be added back in a different location?
