We just had a problem on our forum, using 3.7.5. The problem was that in all the forums, the thread hyperlinks were all underlined, and have been for at least a month.
The last time this occurred was when some code was put in the footer, and an argument not closed correctly. Just logged into the forum here and see the exact same problem. Ours was corrected with a CSS mod. When this is corrected here, would whomever corrects it, please post what was done to correct it. TIA |

I don't really understand what you mean. Haven't the hyperlinks always been underlined?

The threads have always been underlined here. vb.org isn't having any problem with links.

Take a look at our forum at www.vulcanriders.us/forum/
You'll find that the threads are not underlined, until the mouse is over them. It looks a lot better, is a lot cleaner, and is the way it should be working, even if it's not doing that in the stock version of vBulletin. Even Microsoft Windows, in stock form, does not underline the icons until you click on them, and has the option to only underline them on a mouse over. |

AFAIK it is a standard to visually indicate a text is a link by underlining it.

Perhaps it is time to get rid of this 'standard' and go for the cleaner look of not underlining a thread. If people are looking at a thread and don't know it's a thread, they probably don't have anything to add.
Again, take a look at our website, I think it's a lot cleaner without the underlines. |

LorinPotter, that method is part of HTML, which vBulletin is made up of. If you don't like how links are underlined, go complain to w3.org, since they made HTML.
vBulletin can't do anything about removing underlines in links. And shouldn't this be in the site feedback forum? |

Actually Speysider, you are incorrect. It's not a part of HTML, it is very easily changeable in the styles worksheets. These changes are fully supported by vBulletin, since they created the style sheets, with fields that can be changed.
Therefore, vBulleting and Jelsoft, fully support not having these hyperlinks underlined until you move your mouse over them. There is no change in any HTML code. I'd thought one of our admins had changed code, but he simply changed data in the style sheet templates. If anyone would like these simply style sheet changes, PM or email me, or send message to admins at www.vulcanriders.us/forum/ |

We never claimed it can't be done, it is easy to do if you want with some simple CSS.
We only state that it is not how it is defined in the HTML standards (not vBulletin standards) and how users browsing the internet expect links to be shown. |
