vb 384 forum with vbadvanced to suite 4.0.2?

Hi all,

the following situation:

vbforum 384 latest version
vbadvanced latest version
minerskinz free template

the forum has a huge database (uncompressed about 140 MB)
i want to move the forums and the members to the new suite, but not the mods vbadvanced and other stuff.
when i uninstall everything on the location where the live forum is i don't have a working copy if the action fails.

what and how can i do this to go from forum 384 & vbadvanced to 40x suite without all the unneccesary mods files and databasetables?

i hope someone can assist me with this...

As a rule when you uninstall a mod it should automatically revert all the changes that it had added when installed. Personally I am not familiar with neither of those mods as I don''t use them myself but try to ask at their own topics, where you downloaded them. Maybe their authors will be able to help you more with that.

Regarding the upgrade, disable/uninstall all the plugins and then make a thorough backup of your database. Then to make sure that it really works, restore it at your test site. For a backup that big it would be best if you restored it with ssl but if you don''t have access to it then use bigdump or mysqldumper. Then proceed with upgrading your test forum which will be a duplication of your live forum. So you will know what to expect from the upgrade. Then proceed with upgrading your live forum.

I don''t know about that but I have seen a lot of threads at vbulletin.com where users had a lot errors during/after the upgrade. Hence my suggestion above. So you will know what to expect from the upgrade process. But whatever you do, don''t forget to make a thorough backup of your db and make sure that it really works.
