Upgrading from 3, skins are my concern
Over the past year I have put a lot of time into developing a custom skin for my board, but only to find out that a new version was going to be released. Naturally, I want to upgrade to the lastest version, but what are the significant changes to the look of the forum which will result in the upgrade. I want to use my current theme, you can see what it looks like here

ie: EVERYTHING about your custom style will be lost. Unable to transfer any of it to vB4 without a major re-code. |

Oh dear.
Why won't it transfer anything? I was hoping it would transfer but need a touch up in broken places? |

It's because the basic skeleton has changed. Where before it was a lot of tables and td and alt1 and the like, it's mainly now divs and css classes.
It would be like putting one of those laptop cover dealies on a dvd player. |

j1mmy,
There would be a tad of difference but you can get your forum looking pretty close like that with the re coding it. I have done a forum like that to 4.0. just takes some time and now it is alittle easier with stylevars. you can even still keep your avatar mod also. |
