You would need to move all files and directories of your current forum home directory.
PS Be aware that this will change all your links! |

Then update your board url at your Acp-Settings-Site Name / URL / Contact Details-Forum URL. Change here the url from: Code:
www.pistolerosdelmar.com Code:
www.pistolerosdelmar.com/forum |

Any links already used in posts or otherwise hard coded into templates, if you customized any, will be broken. If anyone ever linked to one of your posts/threads from another site it will be broken. If google indexed your site all their links will be broken until you get re-indexed. Although it's easy enough to do the repercussions can be severe.
Can I ask why you want to do this? If you want to put a custom page at your web root you can just change the name of "index.php" to "forum.php" and make the change in vbulletin options to update that... then you can make a custom index.php file people will see if they go to yourdomain.com. |

First go to FTP and rename index.php to forum.php
Now it depends where you want your users to go when they click on the forum logo and the forum homepage link in the footer. If you want them to go to the new page you're making then you are done... If you want these links to take them to the forum home that used to be index.php then you need to edit the address of the link in the URL in your header template and if you choose the homepage link in vbulletin options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details... Just be sure you have am index.php page ready to upload. Have you given any thought to this? www.vbadvanced.com CMPS is a free popular choice for making home pages and gives detailed instructions for making it index.php and renaming the old file forum.php. |
