Usually using the wrong collations in your database, I believe. Databases aren't really my area though.

I've had my browser do that to certain characters. It happened right after I upgraded my firefox browser. I went crazy googling the thing and trying to figure out what was going on and trying every solution I could find. I finally gave up. Although, I have not noticed it happening in ages now. It seemed to be tied up in the Character Encoding being used.

Yeah my thoughts were character encoding.
The user in question, posts from a Iphone. I thought that may be causing the spurious output. |
