copy usergroup options
I have a gaming clan and there are many different ranks. Every time i try to create a new user group i have to click the bullets 100 times it seems for each group to set their permissions. I basically want them to be able to post edit their own posts and all the basic stuff. So is there a mod that will copy the persmissions from one group to the next one i make and so on. I have tried to search for one but had no luck. Also is this already a built in feature in vbulletin where i can do this. Thanks

When you create a new usergroup you will have the option to copy the settings and permissions over from an existing usergroup. This is default in vBulletin, no modification needed.

If your talking about this option Create Usergroup Based off of Usergroup: it doesn't work. If i make changes to the default registered user. All the options that i have customized for registered user, example signature size etc or any other option is not copied over using this option in vbulletin. Unless im doing this wrong?
--------------- Added [DATE]1265365954[/DATE] at [TIME]1265365954[/TIME] --------------- i also created a completely new group and tried to copy it using the option i mentioned above and it doesn't copy any of the new settings that i customized |

If you still have this problem when plugins are turned off, then you should post this as a bug on vBulletin.com.

I have now tested this on both 3.8.1 & 3.8.3 (sorry don't have currently a 3.8.2 version installed locally) and it did work as expected.
If this doesn't work for you, then it is most likely caused by a modification. To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem. Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. |

Thats your answer for everything. The option does not work no matter what you do. It will not copy the settings over to the next usergroup when creating them. I attatched an image to show you what im talking about. When i use the option Create Usergroup Based off of Usergroup my new usergroup does not copy over these options. They all are defaulted to check the bullet NO. So it doesn't copy. Mods enabled or not.
