I just noticed that Paul M's Display Unread Posts hack is not showing any longer in the top right corner of the page.

Usercp > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options > Enable the Unread Posts Display in the Page Header (= Yes).

Because while I was testing the slave the other day, the lag caused it to behave oddly, so I changed the default to off, and now its like that, Im not planning to change it back.

I don't think he was being defensive, just stating that now that it's set that way, he isn't going to change it back.

stating a fact is not defensive, it is stating a fact to explain a situation... maybe Paul did not put any smiley in his post and made you have the feeling he was defensive, but knowing Paul for so long, i can tell he was not... or you would've received a warning, not an answer...
