Blocking Spammers from VB
I get at least 17 spam accounts everyday from the exact same ip addresses.
Can we use this code inserted into the htaccess file to block spammers? does it work for v bulletin? HTML Code:
<Directory \> Order Allow,Deny Allow from all Deny from 74.118.192.202 Deny from 94.142.130.14 Deny from 212.235.107.191 </Directory> |

I started a thread the other day about the exact same thing. Here is the link:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=232038 There is a Module that is discussed in that thread. I installed it on January 3rd and it has blocked several Spammers already. I highly recommend it! The biggest problem is that when we purchase Vbulletin, our Forum Web Site address gets added to the list. Sure, it is nice to have an extra link out there. But I can do without having my link on that page with all of the other Vbulletin Forum owners links. That list is a One Stop shopping center for Spammers. I wonder if I can request to have my link removed. |

i just found under "settings" called "user banning options" give you a spot to input the ip addresses and the e mail of the spammers from viewing your site! v bulletin 4.x is sure full of stuff, just have to stumble across it!
