Can I make my forum like vbadvanced?

I really want to make my site like it was when i had vbadvanced on 3.8. Is there some way to make module-like entities on the new vb 4.0? Is that what a widget is?

Yeah, those are the widgets, don't forget to read the documents for CMS in vb.com, there are 5 pdf with instructions there.
