How do you make images show up in articles on the main page?

I attach an image inline as the very first thing I say in the article, then on the main page, it doesn't show up on the "preview" (you know, before you click the rest of the article to read it).

Anyone know how to make it so they DO show up?

use the small image icon to put it in, and when in there before saveing remember to
click the pencil icon that appears on the image when mouse is hovering over it
in the image options from the pencil icon select either thumb or small and then
where you want it placed, lelft, center or right. then it appears..

I use it alot, versions of vb4 pre gold i had to make tables to make it show.

k so wait a second... this works for images linked in... but not for attachments?!
