External Data provider:First post problem
Hi,
I have a query regarding integrating vbulletin to search engines. Our current setup is as follows 1. We have about 24,000 posts in vbulletin forums setup within the company. We plan to make this content searchable by our company wide search engine. we are using External data provider for this reason with following options. Thread Cutoff - set to 4000 days old This value controls how many days in the past that updated threads will be chosen from. Busy forums will want a smaller number. The smallest valid value is 1 day; the default is 30 days. Maximum External Records - set to 60000 This option limits the maximum amount of records that can be returned by the external data provider. By default 15 records will be returned. This option allows the user to tackon &count=X to their RSS feed to retrieve more records. This way we are trying to index all the data from vbulletin and trying to index this in a search engine. I have observed that external.php extracts only the first post of each thread, however we want to make all the data searchable by the search engine. How shall we achieve this? Any ideas are most welcome. Is there an alternative solution for the same. Best Regards, -Tarun |
