Using google search as a search feature
I'll be honest, I hate vBulletins search feature, not the actual design of it but just the fact that I can't ever find what I'm looking for even if I know I used specific keywords that would be in it.
So I figured it would be nice to put a google adsense search bar, in searches that had zero results and say something like "Our forum software couldn't find what you were looking for but maybe you'll have better luck with google" or something of that nature. And then you would also get the benifit of revenue coming in. I haven't actually tried this yet, but I'm looking for some feedback on the idea. |

The google search is good and bad.
Its good because people do not know how to search in vb properly and search for a phrase. These usually do not bring up accurate results. Google search has better search logarithms that picks up on the average users. However, google relies on google to have all your site indexed in order to work correctly. The solution is to use both, like I do. www.paintballer.ie |
