Chmod directories?
I recently moved host and followed this process
1. close down forum 2. export/import db 3. ftp all files from one host to another. The new host has all the directories @ 755 What should the permissions be? are they cache/temp/images folders that need a different chmod? I know I'm missing something as my social group thumbnails have all disappeared.. |

All directories that get stuff uploaded into them by vbulletin (attachments/avatars/stylesheets/thumbnails/etc) will need to be 777.

There is no list since you may put your attachments/avatars/sigpics/whatever wherever you want - only you know where they are. And, only you know if you put them in the filesystem or not (you could have attachments in the filesystem, but avatars in the database). If they are in the database, you don't need to do a thing.

Ahh, thanks Lynee.
Found the settings and they appear to be all in the database, moving them to the filesystem doesn't work either... GD is configered and enabled so can't be that.... I'm looking at VBSEO I think.. Edit: Just found VB's helpdesk in the members area , and logged a call with VBSEO just to see if there is a known issue |
