Control Group Membership via Custom Profile Field Values?

Is there a way (or a mod) to place members in particular usergroups based on the values they enter into custom profile fields?

For example, lets say I have a profile field that says "What Ultima Online Shard Do You Play?" If a member selects "Lake Superior" then that member is placed in a usergroup that gives him access to post on a blog/forum for that particular shard. I understand it is honor system based with no security, but is there a way to do this?
