I have the suite, I only want forum.
I have upgraded my license to suite, but I only want to install the forum at this time. (For various reasons.) However, I don't have a link in the member area to just download the 4.0.0 forum. It was there before, where did it go?

Why don't you just disable the cms & blog products in the product manager. That should give you the same result, I think. Also makes it easier to get the cms & blog activated once you're ready for it.

Ok. The thing is, I am never going to use the suite on this site (domain, what ever). I have the suite license that I'm going to use on another site when I take it over, and it was cheaper for me to upgrade my license to the 4.0.0 suite now then to buy a new license outright. So I upgraded to the suite, but I still only want to use the forum part of it for now. When it comes time, I'll buy the forum license and point it to my current forum, and use the suite license for my new site.

Does it really matter that much? Will disabling it not achieve the same results? Not going to change your site by having it on there disabled.

This is a question that should be asked over on vbulletin.com, not here (vbulletin.org has nothing to do with licenses). Please do a search over there because there is a big long thread already regarding this issue (started by Paul M).

The thread Lynne is referring to can be found here, for those who are looking: vB4 Forum Only Option has vanished (Now a Closed Thread) The problem is, that might be a licensing issue when I change my crippled suite back over to the plane old forum license, as I'll still have all of the suite software, and database structure installed. While I may not use the suite part, I try to do my best to ensure that I don't open my self up to law suites from large companys. |

This might help I haven't tested it my self but I found it in the mod section it only disables the CMS, I believe the blog can be disabled manually.

I have the suite license too but only wanted to use the forum. I simply downloaded the forum software instead of the suite software and installed it. Problem solved.
