I have noticed on other forums that when you reply to a thread the icon changes on the left of the thread title so you know you have replied in that thread. How do I do that?

That's a default feature of vb, if your icons arent changing after you reply, then you either uploaded the incorrect images or have customized the template system or have a hack disabling this feature.
