Anybody from Portugal... or Iceland?

Hey guys/gals,

I know this may sound like a weird topic title, but I may be moving soon to one of these two places - I have the possibility to choose. I like both places, even though they are wildly different. And yeah, I also like long, dark winters and cold weather (even though Iceland's climate is milder than some would think).

Now, I read hundreds of stats, price indexes, anything, but I wanted to know if there is anybody in here living in either country that could let me know what are you real, effective monthly expenses to live in the country. Even the fact of having been there as a tourist does not help, as I know that actually living in one place is VERY different from being a tourist. Eventually, I would be moving in Lisbon in Portugal or Reykjavik in Iceland, so capital cities.
