VBSEO, *SEO or the Default SEO
I was wondering in how many people are planning on still getting, using any other SEO script besides the default built in SEO options within vb4? I've been debating this now, since it was basically the last big thing I wanted to add to my new vb4 site before going live with it. Besides the better seo links and meta descriptions I couldn't think of what else I would really need it for atleast off the top of my head and posting this thread. I need some thoughts on this from some of you vets out there.

Well for me personally i do have a relatively new vBseo license but since i have already went live with 4.0 beta on my new forum and vBseo wont be available until gold. i wont be using it. as im already getting indexed by google. I may have considered it if it was available at the time of my latest launch. but not now. Another thing is if i didn't have the SEO license just laying around i wouldn't have given it a thought. I really don't think the benefits (if any) are worth the yearly maintenance fees myself.

Well, once the "Next Previous Thread" titles are fixed in VB4 (I can't seem to get them to load the actual titles in my version, BETA 4) I don't think there will be much of an advantage, I don't think the URLS with vbseo really bring much benefit to be honest, google will class a trailing slash / and /index.html as the same I think.
I'm sure there will be a meta description mod out for free soon enough. On my existing 3.x forums which I will eventually upgrade to 4, I think I'll be getting VBSEO on them again to protect their current SERPs. Though any newer forum I'll have on the standard SEO URL's in the vb system. Note that I'm sure you can mod rewrite the URLS in VB 4, you'll just need to select it in the admincp and then upload a htaccess, I'm sure I saw a couple of htaccess files in the vb installation "do not upload" folder. Let us know what you choose to do. |

Google has really yet to use to Meta tag from what I've been reading lately, although would be nice, not really needed. One thing I forgot about was archive links. For me this is needed but I guess I could easily make my own mod for that. Since the new release to vb4 is suppose to out on thursday I guess I see if any other new SEO funtions have been added.

I have 4 forums. 3 with vbseo, 1 without vbseo. and the one without vbseo seems to get me most visitors.
vbseo is just a myth. |

I would be interested in any updates in this matter. I've recently opened a VB4 site and am considering the VBSEO but would like others thoughts on this before buying.

Hi, I'm thinking about renewing my VBSEO license, but I'd like to hear if other people have found it to be worth the cost. Thanks.
