Default doc_background - how to put an image there?

In the doc_background stylevar, there is only an option for color, but NO option for an image. Is there a way around this?

I think if you upload the image into your images folder and add the path (not the URL) where the color is supposed to be input, it will call the image instead of a color.

Currently, you need to edit the css template manually. you're looking for vbulletin.css, should be the html declaration. Take out background-color and add background.

There's a bug report for this on .com, hopefully they'll have a generic doc_background option in beta 4.

Where are you referring to to make this manual change? Where is the file located at? I would really like to change the background of the layout asap. Please let me know thanks.

Style Manager - (Theme) StyleVars

Under the Common options look for doc_background and in the Images box type in something like... url(images/backgrounds/background.png ) Fixed

Now I have mine as a Fixed image, so you can scroll the website over the image and it never moves. Feels more dynamic to me. If you are going to do that, make sure you add the space after the .png but before the ) ... (or .gif whatever type of file your image is) if you do not want your image fixed in one place on your website, remove thespace and the word "Fixed"

Jim if you look at the date on this post VB4 had just come out. The stylevars didn't have all the functionally they do now.

Hi Dom,
Your say not the URL but the path - I am tried putting in the path for my back ground and i am still getting a white background, I am sure I have the correct path... Is there any other setting to make as well as putting in the path?

thanks
Andy

If you need help, you need to tell us *exactly* what you did and *exactly* what you expect to happen. Please also post a link so we can see the actual results.
