Movine images from Database to a file directory

Hi All
Ok i have a very busy forum that is in our local language. We can't write that language online so the only option for us is to write the threads in a software, save the file as an image and post it. So almost all threads contain one or more images that are saved in MySql DB resulting a huge mysql resource usage.
So any idea on a more efficient way to store forum images such as not in the mysql database ? and also How my images can be moved from the database to a file directory on the server to help mewith the mysql resource usage.
