So...
Who here plans on purchasing VB Suite? (Sorry if this thread has been started a lot...)
I do but I am just making sure I have enough money to pay the monthly bills as I intend to get it on sale, instead of paying regular price. |

I'am planning on looking at it very seriously. But, currently I am using wordpress as my articles system and landing page. The suite is going to need to offer more options then wordpress, or be better at something.
On 2 of my sites, wordpress is just an articles system. Comments turned off and not bridged with VB. When I post an article in wordpress, a link is provided to a thread in the forum. And that is where members can post comments. I do not like the idea of having comments on the article, and in the forum. Not only do I not like the idea, I see no reason for it. Comments need to be in one central location - the forum. Not spread out all over the place. The one thing that the suite offers that I like, is a shared template system. This is so the forum and articles section will look just alike. But,,,, I need to see screen shots and reviews to make sure the suite is not going to be a vbadvanced clone, or just pull certain threads from the forum to display on the articles page. For me to buy the suite, it needs to be a complete content management system that is somewhat seperate from the forum. Also, on one of my sites, the articles section is in a subfolder and the forum is in the /html root. I need the system flexible enough to put the suite where I want it. Whether I want it on a subdomain, subfolder, or html root - that is where it needs to go. |
