Migration to new server
I am looking for some advice with regards to moving to a new database.
Basically my current host only allows databases of 100mb and my forum is now beyond that. I have bought hosting elsewhere that gives unlimited size databases. What I would like to do is to put all the current database info into the new one but keep the site back on the current hosting (just change the database) I have tried uploading the mysql backup in phpmyadmin but it is too big(110mb) I have also tried impex but it seems quite a long winded way of doing it. Has anybody got any fool-proof methods or suggest a company that could migrate it for me? I am on the edge of my database capabilities!! thanks |

As remote db connections over the internet and not a closed loop(Internal Network), that is NOT suggestible, this could also be a issue as some hosts wont allow for remote connections such as these to their private backend db servers.
If you don't have shell access, you can try these scripts out to import a db. MySQLDumper MySQLHotxcopy Bigdump |
